Prepping for your occasion makeup appointment

This is a guide to help prepare you so you get the most out of your makeup appointment.

The night before:

  • A light exfoliation to remove any dead skin cells. If you have a regular exfoliation routine do that, otherwise a face wash cloth will do the trick (you don’t need to do anything crazy)

  • Load up on the Moisturiser + lip balm before bed (yes even for the oily gals!). Hydration = key to a flawless application

  • If you’re feeling a little extra, a hydrating sheet mask the night before can be a nice treat. I love the Hada Labo moisturising sheet mask.

  • Get a good night’s sleep! (This one feels self explanatory)

  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water

Day of your appointment:

  • Arrive on time. Please allow 10-15 minutes for parking to avoid running late.

  • Have an idea in your head the look you are after - head to my instagram ahead of time for inspo @morganwickhammua

  • Come with a clean, moisturised face:

In the morning apply your usual skincare but avoid anything too heavy such as oil + avoid SPF - I can add this on request

During your appointment:

  • Avoid using your phone for the duration of the service. Use this time to sit back and relax. The morning goes by sooooo quickly so the time you have sitting in my chair is a great time to soak it all in.

  • Speak up:

Please let me know if you would like to add or change anything to your look. I promise I won’t be offended 😋

  • Trust the process 🎨

Tips for longevity throughout the day:

  • ‼️Please avoid touching your face. The best way to have makeup NOT last is by consistently touching your face/wiping your nose etc. etc.

  • If you have any happy tears at your event, try catching them before they fall. You can do this with a little cotton bud or a tissue rolled into a point.

  • If you don’t catch the tears before they fall - dab but don’t wipe. Just absorb the tear onto a tissue without moving it around onto your face too much.

  • Have realistic expectations - we as artists do everything we can to ensure a long wearing application. However makeup is not indestructible and a bit of creasing etc. is inevitable where the face moves

My makeup brush is unfortunately not a magic wand (wouldn’t that be cool though?) 🪄
